Okay, this one isn't too suprising other than I hadn't heard any real rumblings of it until it happened. The Lakers traded Gary Payton, Rick Fox and a future first round draft pic for Chris Mihm (C), Chucky Atkins (G) and Marcus Banks (G) today. It gives us another center to back up Vlade (who will probably only play abou 20 minutes a game), but it trades a hall of fame PG for an older ok guard and a young gaurd. I hate to say it, but it looks like the Lakers are gearing up for at least a 2 year rebuild. Then again, maybe this team will actually play as a team an suprise everyone.
No news on the Karl Malone front yet. At this point I would be suprised as hell if he came back to the Lakers.
